Summerlake City Park in Tigard, OR [45.437, -122.811]

​​​Highlights

  • New 4 sq. km. map using 1:10,000 scale and 5-meter contours.

  • Register and pay online by 11 PM on Thursday, February 6, 2025

  • Score-O format with 60-,90, and 120-minute courses for juniors and adults, and a short, untimed Kidd-O course for children.

  • Use the MapRun phone app or a Q&A sheet to log each control that you find.

  • Free beginner clinics offered on demand 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM for first-time orienteers.

  • Register and pay onlne by 11 PM on Friday, Feb 6, 2025.

  • Mass starts at the following times:

    • 10:00 AM (120-minute course)

    • 10:30 AM (90-minute course)

    • 11:00 AM (60-minute course)

  • Children can start the Kidd-O course at any time.​

  • 12:00 Noon social to share course experiences and get to know others.

  • All courses close at 1 PM and control pickup begins at that time.

Event Description

This score-orienteering event explores the 4 square-kilometer  Summerlake community of Tigard. You have 60, 90, or 120 minutes to find as many controls as possible in any order. Bring a watch to help avoid a point penalty for finishing late. You can use either the MapRun phone app or a Q&A sheet to take credit for each control found (we recommend using MapRun, which is faster and easy to use).​

Your placement in the results is dependent on the total number of points that you earn for controls found. Tie scores are broken by time on the course.  The score value of each control is determined by the tens digit on the control number (for example, control 38 is worth 30 points).

You may do your course as an individual or as part of a team, but if you are part of a team, you must remain with your team at all times while competing.​

Register for the Event

You must register for this event online by 11 PM on Friday February 7, 2025.  We use the Orienteering USA (OUSA) Event Register system to manage our events.

​

  1. An OUSA account is not required.  If you don't have an OUSA membership, select the Enter Data Manually option.

  2. Your registration is not complete until you sign your waiver and pay your fees (adults must sign for minors).

    • Parents/Guardians, please register your minor children separately and sign the waver for them.​

  3. All participants must be registered individually, even if they are part of a team.​​

    • If you are part of a team, enter the team name/ID (or the names of your teammates) on the registration form so that we can group you with your team for the starts and results.

  4. After registration has closed, we will send an email out with the final instructions for the event.​
